Sakata Seed Southern Africa hosted a successful Farmers Days at JF Steyn Boerdery in Komatipoort, Mpumalanga,from 3-4 September 2025, bringing together growers from across the region to experience our wide range of varieties and newest developments.
The event highlighted Sakata’s commitment to supporting growers with both renowned, dependable varieties and our latest innovations, developed and trialled in recent years. A diverse range of crops was on display, including hot peppers, sweet peppers, tomatoes, rootstocks, squash, lettuce, beans and more.
Among the crops that stood out, our cabbage range impressed many growers, with Superslam F1, Powerslam F1, Conquistador F1, Conquistador II F1, Optima F1, novelty varieties and promising trial varieties on show. Sweet pepper varieties also captured attention, particularly Shogun F1 and Momentum F1, while our rootstocks once again demonstrated their strength and resilience in the field.
Beyond showcasing varieties, the event created valuable opportunities for growers to engage directly with the Sakata team, share insights and explore solutions tailored to their needs. The turnout was excellent, with growers showing great interest in the varieties on display.
