SV1312* BEAN

Jun 28, 2022 | General

𝗦𝗩𝟭𝟯𝟭𝟮* has proven to be a reliable variety with constant exceptional yield and quality. 𝗦𝗩𝟭𝟯𝟭𝟮* are also suitable for mechanical harvest due to the upright structure of the plant and the concentrated pod set. Only specific varieties are suitable for mechanical harvest since plants are only harvested once and maximum yields are required.

Beans are harvested at a later maturity date to ensure maximum pod set. For this reason the internal gel structure of the pods must be able to withstand later maturity without drying out. For mechanical harvesting purposes, planting density are also higher than normal - between 300 000 and 320 000 plants per hectare.

Varieties should preferably consist of a good disease resistance package since there are limited space for ventilation between plants. 𝗦𝗩𝟭𝟯𝟭𝟮* has intermediate resistance to rust which is an added advantage when planting high density during wet weather conditions and temperatures around 18 – 22 °C, which are conducive conditions for rust development.
