Steunmekaar Boerdery – Sampson

Apr 23, 2021 | General

Sampson is a well-known F1 hybrid pumpkin variety in South Africa. One of it’s greatest advantages is it’s excellent shelf-life, enabling the farmer to store it for up to 6 months to wait for good market prices. These photos was sent to us by Werner van der Merwe, Steunmekaar Boerdery, who farms near Delareyville in North West. They harvested their crop in April 2020, and the fruit in these photos was cut on 8 November 2020. It can be seen that the quality of the flesh is still excellent, as good as a freshly harvested fruit! Thank you Werner for sharing these photos with us.
