Perez is a medium maturing, intermediate day yellow onion hybrid. Perez’s bulbs are firm, uniform, globe-shaped and complemented with multiple attractive, tough, golden brown outer scale leaves. In addition, the bulbs have small root plates and thin necks. The high quality bulbs give a competitive advantage later in the marketing season. Perez is slow to bolt (high bolting tolerance) and is suitable for production in the Free State, Northern Cape and certain areas of the Western Cape. Perez is suitable for direct seeding as well as seedling transplants.
