In the cold winter of July 2019, Sakata Seed hosted an Irrigation Information day at the lovely Raasblaar Lodge located in Marble Hall.  All the local farmers from the Marble Hall and Groblersdal areas were invited to attend the day where Chris Barnard, a well-known irrigation specialist was the guest speaker. Chris shared his lifetime of knowledge and experience and also included the various lessons that he has learned over the years regarding irrigation. His presentation was insightful, engaging and very relevant to each farmer that attended.

Sakata Seed has only recently started to sell vegetable seed directly within this area, so the information day was also the perfect opportunity to inform the audience about Sakata’s range of products.  The product specialists responsible for the various crops in Sakata’s product range gave informative presentations, each sharing unique information about the outstanding Sakata varieties within their fields of expertise.

On this successful day, precious new relationships were formed, and Sakata was thanked by the audience for caring about the well-being of the farmers and the successful management of their crops.

The picture below was an exhibit at this event showcasing various of Sakata’s excellent varieties.
