Sakata hosts a Brassica and Irrigation day in George

Sep 3, 2018 | General

At the beginning of August Sakata hosted a Brassica and Irrigation Information day in the lovely town of George in the Eastern Cape.  The well-known irrigation specialist, Chris Barnard was the guest speaker at this event and gave a whole workshop on everything that a farmer needs to know about the correct irrigation practises.

Lizindi van der Walt, Sakata’s Brassica specialist, also took the stand and discussed two of the biggest Brassica disease threats currently in the George area, namely Clubroot and Whiteblister.  The successful day, with an attendance of about 60 broccoli and cauliflower growers within the area, were concluded with a spitbraai and some good conversation amongst the attendees.  In the picture above Chris Barnard is giving a field demonstration to the brassica producers.
