Onion Information Day in Eswatini 6 Nov 2024

Nov 19, 2024 | General

Sakata Seed Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd teamed up with Eswatini Agricultural Supplies and Namboard for an Onion Information Day on the 6th of November 2024, focusing on educating local farmers about the differences between open pollinated and hybrid onion varieties.

Key topics included quality, yield, and disease resistance, with a display comparing Texas Grano open pollinated variety to Sakata's Hoshi F1 hybrid onion. We also shared insights on onion drying processes, planting slots, and selecting the right varieties for each slot.

A big thank you to all the farmers who attended and were eager to learn! Together, Sakata, Eswatini Agricultural Supplies, and Namboard are committed to advancing food production and supporting Swaziland's growers.

We look forward to working together in the future.
