Moraleda is a unique runner bean for production under protection. Under these conditions, it can produce the perfect green bean, suitable for fresh and export markets. Due to its thinner plant frame, it is easier to spray and allow airflow. These photos were taken in Kleinfontein, just outside Brits, North West. Not only are the pods very firm and straight but they can also have a 95% pack out of first-class pods. Moraleda has very strong plants and, if the plants are kept healthy, can be harvested for up to 5 months.
