Merton* – the new kid on the block

Jul 24, 2017 | General

Merton*, Sakata’s brand new cauliflower variety has shown outstanding performance in a demonstration trial that was done at Douglasvale Farm in the Eastern Cape.  It is important to note that Merton* is a warm season cauliflower and is suitable for spring, summer and autumn plantings only.

Merton* withstands the summer heat very well and leaves tend to wrap around the heads to provide protection against the sun.  It produces dense white curds with a typical dome shape which is suitable for pre-packing and processing.
