National Tested Seed, one of Sakata Seed’s distributors in Zimbabwe hosted a field day in Harare for the vegetable producers in the area. Members of the Sakata product development team contributed to the day by sharing their knowledge on vegetable production as well as educating the farmers on Sakata’s products.
Sound management principles including soil and climatic requirements, managing pests and diseases, as well as harvesting, was discussed to empower producers with the knowledge to successfully grow and market their own vegetable crops. Zimbabwean farmers have unique challenges, and it is the Sakata team’s passion to support them in overcoming some of these obstacles. It was a privilege for us to teach and learn from the enthusiastic group of farmers attending the field day.
