Dew Crisp, well known as one of the leading providers of value-added salad products to the retail and food services industries recently held a vegetable garden competition for their farm workers situated at Dew Valley Farm in Bapsfontein. Sakata jumped on board by sponsoring the vegetable seeds that were used to establish the gardens as well as T-shirts and other goodies for the individual entrants to enjoy. Each of the 33 gardens were judged and points awarded for neatness and best quality vegetables produced.
This initiative did not only create a team spirit under the workers but is also a source of nutritious food for the farm workers and their families. Congratulations to the winners of the competition who walked away with a trophy as well as a cash reward.
