Sakata’s cauliflower, Merton has shown its strength once again this season in various plantings in the George and Oudtshoorn areas. Merton gave very high yields due to the exceptionally healthy and vigorous plants producing firm, high quality, dome-shaped heads of between 500 and 900 grams.
Merton is recommended for the summer season when the vigorous plant structure and wrapper leaves can protect the white curds against extreme environmental conditions.
