Sakata has recently launched broccoli, Ares* into the market and this variety is already causing great excitement amongst broccoli growers, with more and more growers including Ares* into their commercial plantings.
Ares* is a fast maturing pre-packer suitable for sowing in spring, summer and autumn. The dark green coloured heads are dome shaped with a medium bead size. Ares* produces smooth heads with small to medium plants. Very uniform maturity for a first cut. This variety is very adaptable for production in all areas of South Africa. Please note that Ares* must not be planted in mid-winter in frost areas.
