Sakata recently exhibited at the annual Botswana Agricultural show. As a Japanese company, staff members were surprised to receive a visit by His Excellency Onishi Mashiro, the Japanese Ambassador which was joined by Honourable Patrick Ralotsia, the Minister of Agriculture as well as Honourable Kgotla Autlwese, Assistant Minister of Agriculture.
Although the drought in Botswana is also as severe as in South Africa, the farmers seem to be positive. The government of Botswana is very interested in agriculture and they assist farmers with input costs. Agricultural students as well as high school pupils also visited the show and they have shown a great interest in crop production.
