Nov 19, 2024 | General

Sakata Seed Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd hosted a Sweet Pepper Information Day for farmers in Komatipoort, South Africa, last week Thursday, 14 November 2024. The event focused on discussing diseases/viruses found in the region, how it spreads, and ways to control it.

Excitingly, we now have access to cutting-edge technology that allows us to detect new pepper viruses not previously identified in the Komatipoort area. With this breakthrough, we can gain critical insights into these viruses and their transmission. Once we fully understand them, the industry can collaboratively develop effective control measures to combat their spread.

At Sakata, we’re dedicated to supporting farmers by helping prevent the spread of diseases and conducting essential research into unknown pathogens. Disease and virus control is vital to ensuring healthy crops, strong yields, and thriving farms.

Thank you to all the farmers who joined us for this insightful session.
