Attracting youth to the agricultural sector is a major focus of the annual Agricultural Career Fair that was held in September 2019 at the University of Pretoria. Energetic young Sakata employees with a real passion for agriculture manned the Sakata stand. They had their hands full assisting eager students seeking more information on the variety of career opportunities available in their respective fields of study. Ranging from informative posters to visual demonstrations students could form a clear picture of what to expect in the working environment in their near future.
Sakata is passionate about the youth and we go out of our way to encourage and equip students in making mindful decisions regarding their future careers. There are numerous specialised job opportunities in the agricultural industry and Sakata focuses on creating awareness amongst students of all the alternatives available. We received positive feedback from students after the event stating that they were surprised to learn about the number of opportunities and experiences that are available in the field of agriculture and meeting the enthusiastic young Sakata employees also motivated them to stay passionate and persistent in the process of reaching their career goals.
