As the market leaders in broccoli genetics, it is very important to stay ahead with the development of our new varieties even when clients are already growing our current varieties. This past season we have done numerous trials on new genetics in the North West province, and from these trials the adaptability and quality of 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗡* in the fluctuating conditions that we have faced has been proven yet again.
𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗢𝗡* is a medium maturing broccoli variety with excellent uniformity and head quality. The beads are very fine and a lighter green colour, resulting in a very attractive end product.
On these photos Wors Botha, who is a grower at WJ Boerdery, can be seen holding some of the Triton harvested that day. They add value on the farm by not only marketing punnets of broccoli, but also processed florets. What makes Triton the perfect fit is that, when chopped into florets, the skirting is not as prominent because of the lighter colour. The dome is also not as dense as some other winter varieties, making the processing easier and the wastage minimal. Well done on producing excellent quality brassicas Wors, and may WJ Boerdery experience a very prosperous season.
