Heidi
Outstanding Qualities
- Resistant to tomato spotted wilt and root-knot nematode
- Very good fruit quality
- Light green shoulder
- Good leaf cover and vigour
Heidi is an indeterminate salad tomato from Sakata’s international breeding programme. Heidi is characterised by good fruit quality, uniform fruit size and a good disease package. Heidi has high resistance to Verticillium wilt race 1 (Vd: 1), Fusarium wilt races 1 and 2 (Fol: 1 – 2), Tomato mosaic (ToMV), Tomato spotted wilt (TSWV) and Root-knot nematode (Mi, Mj). Heidi has a very good shelf life. The strong vigour of plants tends to make it less susceptible to common leaf diseases under circumstances normally conducive to disease development. Heidi can be grown under protection and in the open field due to its good fruit set and size giving high pack out percentages.
