We are proud to announce that Mr. Hiroshi Sakata, President of Sakata Seed Corporation won the All-America Selections (AAS) Medallion of Honour, a globally prestigious award in the gardening industry.
Established in 1932, AAS is known as the authoritative trade association for the gardening industry in the world. AAS aims to introduce and popularize new varieties to gardeners in the United States of America and Canada. With this goal in mind, AAS holds competitions for new varieties every year. The Medallion of Honour is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the gardening industry. As such, it is regarded as an extremely prestigious award in the global gardening industry. President Sakata is the third member of Sakata Seed Corporation to receive the Medallion of Honour, following our founder Takeo Sakata (1965 winner) and former Senior Managing Director Shunichiro Suda (2005 winner).
The award ceremony was conducted at the Awards Banquet of the AAS Summer Summit held in Vancouver, Canada, on Wednesday, 6 September 2023.
