In this video, Carvora is being harvested mechanically on farms in the Free state.
Carvora performed well in the central Free state, on sandy soils in the in-between season. Carvora’s strong ‘nantes’ shape (rounded cylindrical) makes it ideal for the pre-packing market. It has good bolting resistance – meaning bolting does not occur with a sudden change in temperature that might occur in an in-between season. This is aided by the carrot being an early maturing variety. This carrot has a good orange colour and a small to medium core.
