SUPERSLAM IN BRITS, NORTHWESt

Cabbage is one of the most consumed vegetable crops in South Africa. There are many different markets growers can target, like the bagging-, processing-, supermarket or the hawker/loose head market. The hawker/loose head market is by far one of the most difficult and unforgiving markets, since the buyers usually want cabbages that are extremely healthy, and aesthetically pleasing. There is no hiding behind peeling some layers away or chopping the heads up before the consumer sees it.

Johan de Beer from Brits decided that this is exactly the challenge that he wants to take on. Choosing 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗟𝗔𝗠 F1 Hybrid as his variety and meticulously focussing on his fertilization and spraying practices, Johan produced a marvellous crop with exceptional head size and quality. He never once took a shortcut with this crop, and the results speaks for itself. May the reward for putting in all this effort be sweet and big – just like Superslam!
