Jasmine

Outstanding Qualities

  • Resistance to tomato curly stunt, tomato spotted wilt and root-knot nematode
  • Very good fruit quality
  • Uniform green shoulder
  • Good leaf cover and vigour

Jasmine is an indeterminate salad tomato from Sakata’s local breeding programme. Jasmine is characterised by very good fruit quality, uniform fruit size and a very good disease package. Jasmine has high resistance to Verticillium wilt race 1 (Vd: 1), Fusarium wilt races 1 and 2 (Fol: 1 – 2), Tomato mosaic (ToMV), Tomato spotted wilt (TSWV) and Leaf mold races 1 – 5 (Ff: 1 – 5) (ex Cf) and intermediate resistance to Tomato curly stunt (ToCSV) and Tomato yellow leaf curl (TYLCV). Jasmine has a very good shelf life. The strong vigour of the plants tends to make it less susceptible to common leaf diseases under circumstances normally conducive to disease development. Jasmine can be grown under protection and in the open field due to its good fruit set and size giving high pack out percentages.
