Seaside is one of the Sakata spinach varieties used for baby leaf production. Seaside can be used for mechanical harvesting or hand harvesting. Seaside has smooth, oval-shaped, dark green leaves with an upright growth habit. The variety has a very good disease package with resistance to Downy Mildew ( Pfs ) races 1-11, 15-16 and intermediate resistance to race 12 and 14. Days to maturity for baby leaves are 25 – 30 days.
