Sakata’s international research facility, based in Lanseria, Gauteng, subsidiary of leading horticultural seed company, Sakata Seed Corporation, has recently celebrated 100 years of “Passion in Seed”.

The Company seeks a Commercial Manager, that will be based in Gauteng and responsible for the SADC Region. You will be responsible for implementing the company’s sales and marketing strategy in the designated region.


  • Build and maintain relationships with regional distributors and end customers
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives
  • Collecting and reporting up-to-date market information and economic developments
  • Coordinating all commercial activities within the region
  • Developing market share
  • Preparing the region’s sales planning and budgets
  • Assisting with arrangement of farmer’s days and other marketing/promotional activity
  • Co-ordinating product trials within the region
  • Maintaining proficiency of sales skills and product knowledge
  • Operating within budgeted OPEX
  • Accurate and timeous completion of sales administration
  • Managing customer accounts
  • Technical assistance to clients where possible
