Ares is a fast maturing pre-packing variety suitable for spring, summer, and autumn sowing. The dark green coloured heads are dome-shaped with a medium to large bead size. Ares produces smooth heads that grow on small to medium plants. The heads are set deep inside the plants, making it less susceptible to sunburn damage. This variety matures very uniformly, making it easy to harvest. Very adaptable for production in all areas of South Africa. The uniformity of the beads makes it very attractive to the consumer, especially when used for the pre-pack (punnet) market.

SPECIAL VARIETAL REQUIREMENTS

• Only sow Ares in late winter to end of summer.
• Do not plant Ares in mid-winter in frost areas (not recommended for transplant before 15 September in cold areas)
